A burnt yard in the National Prison at Comayagua, Honduras, in which nearly 300 inmates were killed and more were injured after a fire tore through the prison overnight.

Honduras’ prison is notoriously overcrowded and this isn’t the first time people have died in a prison fire. About 850 people were housed in the prison, which is built to take 500. Some people are calling for reform to modernize the penitentiary system in the country as a result.
